Hitting the right note for those with dementia!

On the back of previous work done with Cranhill Development Trust I was invited to produce a film about the 'Come and Sing Cafe' which was set up for people with dementia and their carers / loved ones, serving the North East of Glasgow. The film was funded by the Life Changes Trust via the The Big Lottery Fund and had two objectives, 1. To promote the existance of the fortnightly events and 2. To perhaps inspire others to set up similar events in their own communities. As ever with these kind of films I can light it, mic it and try and come up with some relevant questions, and hit record but it's really down to the participation of the volunteers and supporters (giving up even more of their time) to help me tell the story. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, the enthusiasm, humanity and dignity really shines out, to make a very positive film, the production experience challenged a few of my pre-conceived ideas and stigma around dementia, hopefully the film will bring the group further attention and encourage similar projects in the future.
